Wannan, Bill
Published by Landsdowne Press Melbourne Australia (1962), first edition.
For a man of the cloth, the Reverend Samuel Marsden kept some colourful company during the formative years of the settlement of New South Wales. His admirers likened him to a saint and an angel, while his critics called him the 'Flogging Parson'. He was a moneylender, magistrate, gun trader, pious missionary, farmer and political reactionary.
Hardback in dust jacket. Good condition, with a slight chip to the dust jacket and some soiling. Notes, appendix, bibliography, 223 pages.
