Includes sutras, astrology & liturgical chant notation.

An interesting collection for comparative religion studies, music researchers, palaeographers & collectors. Written on a variety of papers.

Top to bottom:

1.  Mongolian Buddhist text in Uighur script written vertically, with inter-linear Tibetan text in red.  c.1825.

2.  Tibetan liturgical chant.  The chant notation is written in red ink above the black text and indicates relative pitch and duration.  c.1825.

3.  Tibetan text from a work on astrology. c.1850.

4.  Tibetan text in silver ink, probably Sutras.  c.1850.

5.  Tibetan Sutras leaf, script in gold ink.  c. 1875.

Condition:   Condition varies, please refer to the photos - front and back shown. The large (235x685 mm.) Sutras leaf  with gold ink is in poor/fair condition with edge tears but the text is complete and clear.  Similarly the Sutras leaf with silver ink has a section of the margin missing, but complete text, slightly faded.  The liturgical chant leaf is the first of the codex so the reverse is the cover.  The other leaves are in very good/excellent condition.  They are unconditionally guaranteed genuine.

Shipping:   The leaves will be carefully rolled and shipped in a tube. Shipping is free.

Item No:  EPH025.
