Illuminated initials added by hand after printing
Verso: Two columns of Latin text printed in two sizes in black in a gothic font on watermarked laid rag paper. Two coloured initials alternating in red and blue beginning chapters 8 and 9.
Recto: As Verso, with two further coloured initials.

Date: February 27, 1488.
Content: The leaf includes part of Paul’s Epistle to the Hebrews. The red initial ‘C’ on Verso begins chapter 8: Capitulum autem super ea quae dicuntur talem habemus pontificem qui consedit in dextera sedis Magnitudinis in caelis. Sanctorum minister et tabernaculi veri quod fixit Dominus et non homo. (Now of the things which we have spoken, this is the sum: We have such an high priest who is set on the right hand of the throne of majesty in the heavens. A minister of the holies and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord hath pitched, and not man).
Condition: This leaf is in very good condition, sharply printed and with original margins all round. There is very slight edge browning, light stains, scholar’s marginal notes and an unusual dotted design in the bottom margin of Recto. The leaf is unconditionally guaranteed genuine.
