Recto: 15 lines of text in Latin written in a gothic textura hand in brown ink on vellum. Rubrics in red. Two two-line illuminated initials on a bright gold ground outlined in black and red. The initials are painted in blue, white and pink. Very fine black shading creates a three-dimensional effect. Two one-line illuminated initials in liquid gold on red and blue grounds.

Content: Recto contains part of a hymn from the Office of our Blessed Lady at Vespers. The illuminated initial 'V' begins it: Virgo singularis inter omnes mittis, nos culpis solutos mittes fac et castos. Vitam praesta puram iter para tutum. (O rarest virgin pure, of all that meekest waste, discharged of our sin, make thou us meek and chaste. Grant that our life be pure, make safe for us the way…) .

Condition: This leaf is in fine condition. The outer margins of the vellum have some age-related browning, but this is masked off by the mat. The text and illuminations are in excellent condition.
The leaf is unconditionally guaranteed genuine.
