Notes:  A beautifully executed and poignant portrait of a mulatto (mixed race) girl.  The artist has captured an expression which conveys introspection, resignation, even sadness.  The sparse composition is testimony to the artist’s skill in producing a powerful image with a few quickly drawn lines.


Otto Felsing was a master printer who worked with many of the best-known late 19th and early 20th century artists such as Käthe Kollwitz, Max Klinger, Otto Dix, Edvard Munch and many others.  Felsing often countersigned the works he printed.


Condition:  The etching is in near mint condition with a clear, sharp impression and plate mark.
